All Element 2003 to 2011 are powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four K24 engine. This is Honda's most reliable engine. Utilizes a timing chain, virtually bulletproof if maintained and can last 300-500k miles.
The Honda Element is powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine (K24) across all model years (2003-2011). It produces 166 horsepower @ 5,800 rpm and 161 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000–4,500 rpm. The 2003-2006 models were rated slightly lower at 160 hp and 160 lb-ft.
